whattaweekend!

we had a very fun weekend. this post might bore you, but i just wanted to share some pictures and highlights.

first off, mika made THIS at scouts: as you can CLEARLY see, it's a native american raft. with a lot of hot glue strands.

the kids had some friends over on saturday. we camoflaged turkeys so they wouldn't get eaten on thanksgiving. (they got haircuts later that afternoon, i convinced them "spike" is cooler than "shag".)

then we took the crew up to WSU for the dads' weekend/ veteran's day celebrations. there was an army helicopter for them to check out:

then skip used his military pull to get us onto the football field before the game started. the boys loved this, and had short-lived fantasies of future NFL careers:

sunday we took a walk to the UofI arboretum and everyone let out a little "after church wiggles" enjoying the cold air. i love this picture- noe just dropped a cold rock down skip's back. she cracks herself up. i wonder where she gets that from?

boys will be boys... they don't actually have a football, but they're playing "pretend" football.

then the kids entertained themselves for awhile playing tag, and i spotted this incredibly good looking man sitting on a bench. i couldn't pass up the opportunity, so i accosted him and exploited my 4 year old's photography skills.all in all, one of the better weekends we've had in awhile. jordan and samantha finally got a webcam, so we were able to talk with them tonight, which really ended things on a high note. i love my family. they are what i need in my life, and i couldn't ask for more in this department.
