I Have Died and Gone to Heaven

I had a hunch for some time now that the kit lens on my camera was limiting my accomplishments. I wanted a better portrait lens. But it was pricey. So I had to wait for an appropriate occasion to request such a spendy gift. Baby Jesus really wanted me to have it.

I am in heaven. HEAVEN, I tell you. Jordan and Sam are here, so I also have some new subjects to practice on. Not that I merely view them as subjects... I'm just sayn. Stay tuned for more pictures of them. Although Sam is recovering from a home hair-relaxation kit fiasco (*not my idea), so I'm not too sure how much of that I want to capture in pixels. Maybe it's time for another cute hat and some braids.

Snip, Snip, Chop, Chop.

This is the only picture I've taken. We have been so busy, I haven't had much time to snap random pictures. But Noe wanted her hair cut, and I was all for an easier-to-tame mane. So we went drastic. The only downside is that it's too short to let it go natural, so we have to blowdry it, and I have to give a quick straighten to her bangs in the mornings. No more "natural" look... but no more wrangling the dreadlocks at 7:48 before we have to be in the car at 7:50 every school day. Plus, she loves it. And really, that's all that matters.
